Armenia was the first country in history to adopt Christianity as its state religion in 301 AD. To this day, the religion is deeply embedded in the culture, and the majestic monasteries such as Geghard and Tatev are significant symbols of the faith.
The majestic Mount Ararat
Although Mount Ararat is now in Turkey, it is considered a national symbol of Armenia. Legend has it that Noah's Ark ran aground here after the Great Flood, and it is frequently depicted in the country's art and culture.
