Land of two languages
In Paraguay, both Spanish and Guarani are official languages. Over 80% of the population speaks Guaraniāone of the few indigenous languages āāthat has survived to this day.
Electricity from water
Paraguay shares the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant with Brazil, one of the largest in the world. It produces so much energy that Paraguay uses it to cover almost all of its energy needs and even exports electricity.
